SUMMARY:The Top 3 Areas Where Today’s CISO Need to Focus
DESCRIPTION:The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on almost every aspect of our life: how we work\, how we travel\, how we shop and how we interact with our friends and families. Even more jarring is that this change happened in a matter of weeks or months\, and we still face a great deal of uncertainty. \nDuring this time the CISO is witnessing their career evolving before their very eyes\, with two words dominating their new career paths: resiliency and agility. Although there has already been a seismic shift in the way many businesses operate the tectonic plates have not finished moving.  Quite how or even when the ground will settle for the long-term is not entirely clear. What is clear\, however\, is that the CISO needs to both keep the business safe and be prepared and flexible enough to support the new reality. \nToday’s CISO needs to be empowered to deal with their historical technical and process debt\, the reality of the situation today\, and the business of the future. Register for this webinar and join us to discuss the top 3 areas today’s CISO needs to be focusing on.

SUMMARY:Firewall Chat: Best Practices to Block Ransomware
DESCRIPTION:Ransomware attacks have come back with a vengeance. More than half of organizations admitted to being hit by ransomware in the last year at an eye-watering average remediation cost of $761\,106 per attack. \nOne of the most effective methods for protecting against ransomware attacks like Ryuk\, Sodinokibi\, Maze\, and Ragnar Locker is to fortify your defenses with a properly configured firewall. \nIn this chat\, we’ll discuss how you can incorporate protections into your organization’s IT security strategy to avoid being held hostage by ransomware.

SUMMARY:DFARS 7012 Cybersecurity Webinar Series #14: Pacific CMMC Conference Online
DESCRIPTION:URGENT UPDATE: THE NEW DFARS INTERIM RULE HAS BEEN RELEASED AND GOES INTO EFFECT NOVEMBER 30\, 2020!\nDon’t miss this opportunity to get the latest information on the DoD’s new DFARS rules and the rollout of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program\, directly from CMMC program director Katie Arrington.\nThe Cyber Collaboration Center is producing a Pacific CMMC Conference online event as its DFARS 7012 Cybersecurity Webinar Series #14\, featuring guest speaker Katie Arrington\, director of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. All are welcome to attend this event\, produced in partnership with leading Pacific cybersecurity stakeholders including Cyber Hawaii\, the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council (MAC) and INNOVATE Hawaii (Hawaii’s NIST National Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) National Network Center).\nThe conference event is online and NOT limited to companies doing business with DoD in the Pacific. The information presented will be relevant to all DoD contractors nationwide. We are starting earlier to allow a slightly longer format at 90 minutes instead of our usual one-hour events\, due to the significance of the new developments with DFARS and CMMC. \nThe new DFARS Interim Rule released Sept 29\, 2020\, provides a legal framework for the government to collect more information from contractors and require them to take actions that will cost money in order to be eligible for contract awards. The new rules take effect on November 30\, 2020 and are expected to impact all contractors doing business with the DoD. Your company’s executives should attend this event to make sure they are aware of the impacts these rule changes are expected to have on the DoD procurement process across the entire supply chain. \nThis special webinar will provide key updates from the head of the CMMC program\, along with experts from eResilience explaining more about the new DFARS rules\, including information about what companies should expect and how to prepare.

SUMMARY:COMPLYING WITH THE DOD ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY AND DIBCAC ASSESSMENT PROCESS"\, FEATURING JOHN ELLIS\, DCMA
DESCRIPTION:New DFARS Interim Rules went into effect in December 2020\, forcing defense contractors to adhere to new processes and requirements\, and placing greater emphasis on compliance with cybersecurity regulations. Contractors who handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) must now conduct self-assessments of NIST 800-171 compliance status in accordance with NIST 800-171A assessment guidance; score themselves on a subtractive\, weighted formula as prescribed by the DoD Assessment Methodology scoring system; and report their scores and expected POAM completion dates to the government through the Supplier Performance Rating System (SPRS) in order to remain eligible to win new contract awards that involve handling CUI. In addition\, the DCMA’s Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC) is now able to mandate more detailed analysis of contractor compliance through Medium and High confidence assessments at the government’s discretion. For Medium and High assessments\, DIBCAC personnel may perform detailed reviews of contractor SSPs\, or conduct full NIST 800-171A evidence-based assessments of contractor compliance.\nIn this webinar\, John A. Ellis\, Director of the DCMA’s Technical Directorate\, will provide key information that all defense contractors should understand about what is required\, what to expect\, and how to prepare for the DoD Assessment Methodology and DIBCAC assessment process; and cybersecurity compliance experts from eResilience will share best practices for prime contractors and subcontractors to assist in navigating compliance challenges.

SUMMARY:Exploring Privacy Trends\, Challenges & Predictions
DESCRIPTION:Consumers expect organizations to respect their privacy\, and organizations that do not may face severe fines and reputational damage. \nThe ISACA 2020 State of Privacy survey revealed that privacy is not going anywhere\, as boards of directors prioritize privacy\, and many survey respondents anticipate privacy budgets to increase or stay the same\, despite the financial uncertainty caused by the pandemic. \nJoin ISACA to learn about privacy workforce trends\, privacy program approaches\, and the future of privacy. SUMMARY:CMMC: What Primes Need From Their Subcontractors
DESCRIPTION:The DFARS Interim Rule is in full effect\, and CMMC requirements have already started to appear in RFPs.  if you are a member of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB)\, you are subject to implementation of the NIST SP 800-171 standard must have a current DoD Assessment on record in the DoD’s Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) to be eligible for an award\, subcontract\, or contract extension or modification. The results of that assessment results in what is known as an SPRS score. \n\nWhat does that SPRS score mean?\nWhat does your Prime need to see from you?\n  \nOur government and industry experts will be on hand to walk you through all the details of SPRS reporting\, DCMA audit processes\, and actionable insight\, including: \n\nHow SPRS relates to DoD Assessment Methodology\nWhy NIST 800-171 sets you up for CMMC success\nWhat self-assessments and SPRS scores mean to Primes\nHow to ensure security\, protect IP\, and gain competitive advantage\n\nThere will be a 15 minute moderated Q&A portion following the presentations\, so make sure to get your questions in when you register! \n

SUMMARY:Enabling Cybersecurity Accountability for the Enterprise
DESCRIPTION:Establishing a security-forward culture is your first line of defense against cyber-threats. Layered security strategies are only as strong as their weakest layer. Fostering a risk-aware workforce enables CISOs teams to institute enterprise-wide ownership and to enforce accountability at every layer of their cybersecurity program. \nJoin ISACA and ProcessUnity for practical advice on “Cybersecurity Accountability”\, – assigning risk ownership to individuals that have the authority to do something about those risks.
