DSIE® Announces Creation of and Merger with NDISAC™

The Defense Industrial Base Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (DIB-ISAO) has officially voted to approve the founding of and merging with the National Defense Information Sharing and Analysis Center™ (National Defense ISAC™ ) on September 28, 2017.

On August 11, 2017, the NDISAC was established as a District of Columbia non-profit organization to enhance the security and resiliency of the defense industry and its strategic partners. On September 28, 2017 the DIB-ISAO, a 501(c)6 organization for cyber threat sharing and collaboration with an almost 10 year history of threat information sharing, voted by its Board of Directors and Membership to a plan of merger with the National Defense ISAC. The National Defense ISAC is the resulting organization. Its scope covers cyber security, physical security, insider threats, and a full range of enterprise risk management matters associated with critical infrastructure security for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), its suppliers, and other interdependent interests. NDISAC will include, within its organizational umbrella, the Defense Security Information Exchange (DSIE), the DIB cyber threat center of excellence.

DSIE will continue its independent and unique organizational identity, and will remain the selective high-quality information sharing collaboration.

NDISAC will broaden the membership base by opening membership criteria to allow all DIB suppliers, contractors and any interdependencies that they may depend on. NDISAC mission is to enhance the security and resiliency of the defense industry and its strategic partners, and hopes to accomplish this with the development of information sharing, collaboration, and working group efforts focused on broader areas of cyber, physical, and insider threat efforts relevant to our members.

Joining NDISAC will assist smaller-scale entities and suppliers with leveraging the best security data, tools, services, and best practices available through a high-trust, collaborative industry environment for entities to develop and continually mature their secure enterprise.

The National Defense ISAC will serve as the National Defense sector’s principal focal point for all hazards to the sector. More information can be found at https://ndisac.org/dev/ndisac-membership/.
